About the Library
Each classroom comes to the library once a week for 30 minutes for a lesson and checkout time. Each student may have up to 5 books total (1 graphic novel and 2 from a fiction series) checked out at a time. This may be increased over longer breaks. Graphic novels are checked out for 1 week. All other books are checked out for a 2 week period but may be kept for longer if there isn’t a hold on the book. The library is open to students during lunch recesses every day except Tuesdays.
About Mrs. Miller
I am thrilled to be a part of this collaborative staff! In the library we’re fostering and expanding students’ reading lives and encouraging them to be critical users and producers of information.
Previously, I was an Instructional Technology Specialist for SPS serving 14 schools (K-12), and before that I taught at Syre Elementary in the Shoreline School District.
I come from a long line of Huskies (Go Dawgs!) where I received a B.S. in Zoology and continued on at Seattle Pacific University where I received my teaching certificate. More recently, I received and M.A. Ed from Antioch University with a focus on Library Media.
It is best to contact me through email at lmmiller(at)seattleschools.org.
